Responding to Shocks Using Market-Based Approaches: Insights from RDC Bangladesh

This webinar will provide insights from Bangladesh’s Rice and Diversified Crops (RDC) Activity, showcasing practical examples of enterprise pivots and adaptations. The speakers will provide examples of how programmatic and operational responses lead to system-level changes within the Bangladesh agricultural market system, review RDC’s strategies and impact by sharing stories to highlight how scale, sustainability, and systemic change were achieved, and discuss how the rapid change of social dynamics and norms created opportunities to support firms to pivot and adapt to the new realities.

KSS: Keynote & Opening Panel

In this session, Amy Tohill-Stull, Deputy Assistant to the Administrator, USAID Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance shared a keynote address on the imperative of HDP coherence. The keynote was followed by a rich discussion among panelists which highlighted ongoing crises such as the war in Ukraine, drought in the Horn of Africa, and escalating armed conflict in the Sahel – all compounded by the severe effects of climate change and COVID-19. Panelists examined the main obstacles in programming for HDP coherence and identified promising practices. Finally, panelists sought a joint definition of success when it comes to HDP coherent programming –

WASH, Nutrition and Child Growth: Webinar Series for Implementing Partners

About The evidence base is expanding to show that infant and young child growth is affected by persistent fecal exposure, but also that traditional WASH interventions may not be enough to address the issue. Calls are going out for ‘transformational WASH’ to address the myriad sources and pathways of infection. PRO-WASH, WASHPaLS, and the Clean, Fed and Nurtured Coalition invite you to a three-part interactive webinar series to: Share the current evidence base linking enteric infection and child growth Discuss the relevance of the ‘environmental enteropathy hypothesis’ to our work in food security, WASH and nutrition Review traditional WASH interventions

Organizing for HDP Coherence: Country Teams’ Perspectives

Achieving humanitarian, development, and peace coherence entails synergies across technical silos and adaptive work structures and cultures. How have country teams evolved and stretched their mandates to deliver HDP coherent programming? What does this look like from both a technical and an operations/management perspective? How are implementing partners coordinating internally and strengthening staff capacity to deliver coherent programming? What challenges are we facing and how are these being addressed? This dynamic dialogue explored these questions and offered practical takeaways for how to approach HDP coherence at the project and country level. Participants were invited to join the dialogue and share

Scaling Up Feed Additives & Evidence For Impacts

This webinar brings together experts and industry stakeholders to address the evidence and discuss opportunities for scaling feed additives. The discussion is based on an in-depth assessment of leading compounds studied for their efficacy to mitigate methane emissions in ruminant livestock. The report is a concise resource that can guide investment and management decisions by all actors in the livestock supply chain and inform policymakers, industry investors, and feed industry advisers on the effectiveness, applicability, and broader commercial issues surrounding methane-reducing feed additives.

Centering Local Knowledge on HDP Coherence

Many international non-governmental organizations (INGOs), donors, and local partners recognize that there are core principles for designing locally led HDP coherent programming. Although many INGOs have a philosophical alignment to addressing power imbalances in programming, community-based organizations continue to face entry point barriers in the current programming structure. One versatile tool that is supporting the reimagination of development by centering local voices is the Participatory Community-Led Development (CLD) Assessment tool created by the consortium members of the Movement for Community-Led Development. The toolkit was partially funded through the IDEAL Small Grant Program Improvement Awards Impact of Community-led Development (InCLuDe) on
