Multi-year emergency programming (MYEP) has the potential to promote humanitarian-development-peace (HDP) coherence, maximizing program outcomes and reducing the need for humanitarian assistance. Using publicly available reports and studies, this desk review highlights the most promising behaviors, processes, and challenges in MYEP across all phases of programming. Learnings from this desk review informed IDEAL's qualitative research on BHA-funded multi-year humanitarian activities, drawing out actionable recommendations for donors and implementers.

In May 2024, IDEAL hosted an online event to share findings from the study, you can watch a recording and access slides here. This event was part of the HDP Coherence in Practice: Insights from the Implementing Community series.
