This literature review synthesizes international experiences in implementing the Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus (HDP Nexus), as outlined in the Strategy on Transitional Development Assistance published by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) in 2020. It aims to inform BMZ's efforts in coordinating, harmonizing planning, and jointly implementing projects to strengthen resilience in transitional development assistance. It targets policymakers, practitioners, and stakeholders involved in humanitarian assistance, development cooperation, and peacebuilding efforts, particularly those within BMZ and its partner organizations. It is also relevant for international organizations, NGOs, researchers, and government agencies engaged in promoting coherence and integration across these sectors. It provides insights into best practices, challenges, and lessons learned from international experiences, guiding policymakers and practitioners in designing and implementing effective interventions. Additionally, it offers recommendations for enhancing coordination, resilience-building, context-specific programming, and flexible financing, contributing to improved outcomes in crisis-affected contexts.
