Livestock Emergency Guidelines and Standards (LEGS)

This in-person course (555 12th St NW, Washington, DC 20004, Room 354) from USAID provides humanitarian professionals with a full introduction to the Livestock Emergency Guidelines and Standards (LEGS). By the end of the course, participants will be able to describe livestock livelihoods and the potential impacts of humanitarian emergencies, use the LEGS assessment checklists and Participatory Response Identification Matrix, and use the LEGS handbook to assess a livestock emergency and identify appropriate responses that adhere to core humanitarian standards. Attendees will receive a copy of the LEGS Handbook and will be introduced to the support materials available through the LEGS website.
