The USAID-funded “Partnership for Resilience and Economic Growth in Northern Kenya” Phase II (PREG II) project was implemented in nine counties of Kenya’s arid and semi-arid lands (ASALs) from 2018 to 2023.

Meet our Presenters:

Headshot of Lisa Smith.Lisa Smith is a Senior Economist at Technical Assistance to Non-Governmental Organizations (TANGO) International. She holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural and Applied Economics and specializes in development economics, food and nutrition security, resilience, gender, and impact evaluation. She was formerly a Research Fellow at the International Food Policy Research Institute and held visiting faculty positions at the Rollins School of Public Health of Emory University and the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics at the University of Arizona.

A headshot of Tim Frankenberger.Tim Frankenberger is the President and co-founder of TANGO International and has over 35 years of experience in international development activities, including resilience measurement, project design, monitoring and evaluation, food and livelihood security assessments, vulnerability assessments, and policy analysis. He has actively contributed to the Resilience Measurement Technical Working Group. He has also published articles, evaluations, and reports focusing on resilience and household food and livelihood security and has worked in more than 30 countries.
