The Movement for Community-led Development (MCLD)

The Movement for Community-led Development (MCLD) invites you to Local Means Local: Community Leadership and Facilitation in CLD, a two-part bi-lingual learning event to share the findings from phase 2 of our collaborative research. Join the webinar as MCLD shares the key findings, implications, and recommendations from a Rapid Realist Review of 56 community-led programs.

The keynote address will be presented by Ambassador Donald Steinberg. Ambassador Steinberg serves as Expert Adviser to the Administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), where he focuses on expanding locally-led development and humanitarian assistance, aligning U.S. policies with the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals, and promoting diversity, equity and inclusion.

The launch event will be conducted in English with simultaneous interpretation in French. The plenary session will be followed by a 40-minute deep-dive session with the research team.

The InCLuDE (Impact of Community-led Development on Food Security) research was conducted in partnership with Charles Darwin University, Australia. It unpacks how and in what contexts do community leadership and facilitation contribute to equity and resilience in food security, offering key insights for implementing organizations, funders, and governments.
