Adequate nutrition, time for food preparation, and safe food are important food issues faced by workers but are often inadequately addressed in nutrition education materials. This 8-page resource considers how diet and food safety can be compromised by work conditions and environments, and includes strategies for improving workplace eating conditions and healthy food access for workers inside and outside the factory. The chapter comes from Workers' Guide to Health and Safety (Hesperian, 2015), a simply-written and heavily-illustrated book that puts occupational safety and health information into a form that can be used by those most affected by workplace hazards -- the workers themselves.
