Using Motivation 3.0 for Community-Based Workers

Resource Type:
Documents

During this presentation participants saw several discussion-starting video clips on incentives and motivation, and heard some of the latest scientific findings on the topic.  Participants discussed their program experiences with financial and non-financial incentives for community development workers such as community health workers and agricultural extension workers.  Participants also gained a better understanding of the conditions under which performance-based incentives work, the dangers of using them indiscriminately, and discussed how to decide if a program task would be best carried out by volunteers or paid staff.

In addition to the presentation slides available below, this link has a narrated presentation on a similar presentation given by TOPS staff at an APHA conference:  Motivation 3.0
